About the Author Silvia Abarrategui was born in Matanzas, a coastal city east of Havana, Cuba. She spent most of her childhood between Havana and Washington, D.C. where she lived until her grandmother took her back to Havana to finish her education. She graduated from the University of Havana in 1977 with a professorship in English. Abarrategui emigrated with her husband to Miami in 1978. Since then, her successful career in the hospitality and travel industries have taken her to Asia, South America and Europe. She has also written articles for several publications. Innocent Betrayal is Abarrategui's first novel.
